SUPERIOR METHODOLOGY

Myths Exposed

Law enforcement firearms training has long been influenced by outdated techniques and, in some cases, complete myths—including concepts like "recoil management," "muscle memory," and "bent is better."

The reality? Many of these traditional methods actually hinder an officer’s natural speed, accuracy, and mental focus—putting them at a disadvantage in real-world encounters.

D.R.A.W. School identified and eliminated these ineffective training trends, replacing them with science-backed methods designed to maximize officer performance in high-stress situations.

THE DANGER OF INFREQUENT TRAINING

Firearms proficiency is a perishable skill—if officers don’t train consistently, they lose effectiveness rapidly. Traditional law enforcement training often allows weeks or even months to pass between live-fire sessions, leading to:

  • Diminished accuracy – Slow reaction times and poor shot placement.
  • Reduced confidence – Hesitation under pressure.
  • Decreased operational readiness – Officers unprepared for real-world threats.

Online Training System

The D.R.A.W. School Online Training System is an online training platform that allows officers to train individually on their own or to allow a department to assign training courses to take. To learn more about the Online Training System, click below.

THE STAIR-STEP TRAINING METHODOLOGY

D.R.A.W. School’s proprietary Stair-Step Training Methodology is designed for maximum efficiency and effectiveness, delivering:

  • Short, Continuous Training Cycles – Officers master each skill incrementally before progressing.
  • Increased Speed & Accuracy – Faster execution of first-shot and follow-up shots.
  • Enhanced Safety – Officers develop instinctive, controlled firearm handling.

THE FINDINGS WERE CLEAR:

“Short, focused, continuous training segments increase officer retention.”

FLEXIBLE TRAINING FOR MODERN LAW ENFORCEMENT

D.R.A.W. School offers in-person firearms training, instructor development training and an innovative Online Training System, allowing officers to train anytime, anywhere.

  • Firearms Training – In-person, instructor-lead courses that train officers basic and advanced shooting techniques.
  • Instructor Development – Training courses course teach firearms instructors how to duplicate and obtain highly effective results.
  • LMS-Based Dry-Fire Training – A dynamic learning management system that guides officers through step-by-step instruction with 100% safety.

*PLEASE NOTE- All in-person and online D.R.A.W. School training courses are for sworn law enforcement officers and instructors, law enforcement affiliated college training programs, NRC security teams, and related professionally armed security teams. Credentials will be required to have access to these courses. To find out if you or your organization qualify to attend or subscribe, please contact us.

Websites and social media accounts are open and available for public viewing. As such, individuals looking to circumvent law enforcement training and tactics often use posted online photos and videos for this purpose.  For this reason, D.R.A.W. School is very selective about the pictures posted on this website. We do not post videos of our training in order to protect the integrity of our programs and the officers in the field that use them.
