SAFETY FIRST! The use of these devices in your online training and in-person training is MANDATORY! If you are taking the Advanced Handgun Instructor course, you will need to order a BarrelBlok in the same caliber of your duty handgun. If you are attending the Advanced Patrol Rifle Instructor course, you will also need to order a RifleBlok 556 for your AR-15 patrol rifle. Step 5- Complete Prerequisite Training Course
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BELOW!
As part of your Advanced Firearms Instructor Training course that you are attending, you are REQUIRED by SCCJA to complete the six-hour D.R.A.W. School Handgun Online Training course. This applies to both Advanced Handgun Instructor and Advanced Patrol Rifle Instructor candidates. This course is FREE and MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE ATTENDING CLASS. YOU MUST ENROLL AT LEAST 14 DAYS PRIOR TO THE START OF CLASS. The course is self-paced and will start where you left off each time you log in. At the end of the course, please text a picture of your completion certificate to the Chief Instructor at 704-298-9897. Keep this certificate as it counts for 6-hours of CLE/MRN credit.

Step 6: Department Patches & Challenge Coins
Please bring at least three department patches and challenge coins for your D.R.A.W. School Instructors! Instructor candidates from across the region will bring their respective department's patch and/or challenge coins, so bring a few more to trade out with each other!
Of course, your ultimate goal is to successfully complete the course and be presented with the official D.R.A.W. School Instructor patch shown to the right. This is a highly coveted patch and the only way to get it is to earn it! Once you earn it, wear it with pride! It signifies that your level of training, your commitment to higher training standards and your professional achievement as a certified firearms instructor far surpasses the rest!
